What region am I in? Why are some games black?
Regional blackouts are determined based on your physical location and are applicable to regionally sold broadcasts, per league or team contract. Each team has a season of regional (only available to viewers in one team’s region) and national (available to everyone across the country) season. The map below outlines which regional teams will be playing in which region.
Who owns the territorial rights of each Canadian party?
Edmonton Oilers: Territorial rights are owned by Sportsnet. They have played 26 regional and 55 national games this season.
Calgary Flame: Territorial rights are owned by Sportsnet. They have 32 regional and 50 national games this season.
Vancouver Canucks: Territorial rights are owned by Sportsnet. They have 42 regional and 40 national games this season.
Toronto Maple Leafs: Territorial rights are divided into sportsnets And TSN. SportsNet owns 14, and TSN owns 26 this season. They have 42 national games on SportsNet. For SportsNet’s full leaf schedule, Click here.
Winnipeg Jets: Territorial rights are owned by TSN. They have played 60 regional games (on TSN) and 22 national games (on Sportsnet) this season.
Ottawa Senator: Territorial rights are owned by TSN. This season they have 55 regional games (on TSN) and 27 national games (on Sportsnet).
Montreal Canadian: Territorial rights are owned by TSN. They have 50 regional games (on TSN) and 32 national games (on SportsNet) this season.
What is the difference between SN NOW STANDARD and SN NOW PREMIUM?
The standard includes a total of over 300 NHL games, including Oilers, Flame or Canucks or 56 Maple Leafs games, depending on where you live. To get one of the group’s regional games, you must be in their broadcast area because regional blackouts will apply.
Premium has the same hockey content as the standard and hundreds of additional extra-market games. This means it lets you see groups that are not local to you Limited blackout restrictions apply.
In addition to more NHL games, customers receive Bundesliga, FA Cup, United Rugby Championship, Premiership Rugby, National Rugby League, Super League Rugby and Indicar.
