Dunedin, Fla. – George Springer hit a two-run homer for the Toronto Blue Jays in a pre-season 7-5 win over the New York Yankees on Sunday.
The Jays will face Detroit on Monday and cap the spring training against Baltimore on Tuesday.
Toronto, 8-5 in the pre-season, started the regular season at home against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
Springer’s two-out home run broke the Yankees reliever Clark Schmidt’s 5-5 stalemate in the sixth inning.
Toronto starter Shawn Anderson gave up four runs on three hits in three innings of work. He walked one and hit three out.
Yankees shortstop Isia-Kinar Falefa hit a two-run home run in the first inning.
Third baseman Josh Donaldson walked and went 2 for 3 with two home runs.
Yankees starter Lewis Gill allowed five runs off eight hits in 2.1 innings. He walked one and hit two.
