MANILA, Philippines – Jaza Santiago ended his fourth Japan V-League season as the league’s top blocker by beating Saitama 25-17, 25-20, 25-12 against Himeji on Sunday at the Wink Gymnasium.
Santiago ended the season on a high note with 12 points, a block and an ace in 10 attacks, finishing fifth with 20-13 cards.
The 6-foot-5 middle blocker finished the season with the most blocks at 103, averaging 0.81 per set.
Brazilian importer Lauren Teixeira led the final win of the season with 15 points and 17 points from two blocks.
Yuka Sato provided 13 points, while Mami Uchiseto added 12 to end their 2021-22 term.
Himeji is 11th out of 12 teams with an 8-25 record. Celeste Plaque led the team with 13 points, while Chihiro Sasaki took 10 points.
