Gemma Galanza put in a great performance to beat the Crimline in the fourth set, Petro Gaz, 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 25-16, as the Cool Smashers claimed the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Championship in Antarctica on Friday night.
The 5-foot-7 Open Spyker took charge when each defender was on Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos, scoring 17 points in their first professional league championship.
It was an 8-0 clean sweep of the title last year when the Cool Smashers melted in the final near the Cherry Tigo crossover to settle for second place.
Despite a 1-1 tie in their series, the win brought Signal a bronze medal thanks to a good quotient over Choco Mucho.
