Manila, Philippines-Choco Mucho survives third set dip in Signal HD, 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22 on Wednesday and 3rd at the Mall of Asia Arena to take a 1-0 lead in their Premier Volleyball League Open Conference. Best of three series for space.
The Flying Titans jumped on the HD Spykers still stunned from their semifinal defeat and could flee with a bronze medal in Game 2 on Friday.
Choco Mucho took the first two sets but allowed Signal to steal the third set behind Rachel Ann Daquis. But for the HD Spyker, it was a blister of error towards the end of the fourth.
The finalist showed new strength after losing to the Crimline, out-attacking Choco Mucho Signal 14-9 in the first set to set the tone.
The Signals lost to PetroGaz in the semifinals 1-0 in the series and despite leading by multiple match points in Game 2. They were frustrated when they entered the game until Daquis Zest came on the field.
