MANILA, Philippines – J.O. Ambohot lost almost all of the lead to Latron in a 96-67 win over Aurelano on Wednesday and his second consecutive win in NCAA Season 97 men’s basketball at the Greenhills Gym in La Salle.
The 6-foot-7 Ambot, the Knights’ holdover center, was a breakout game, unloading 20 points for the Knights who were able to change their list against the crippled Chiefs. He added eight rebounds and three assists.
“We have helped each other and that is our goal. It’s good that we started strong. We will continue to do our best, ”said Ambohot in the Filipino. “Our hard work is being reflected.”
Chiefs Slot Man and top scorer Justin Arner missed services – which was seen as their imbalance against Ambot – who hit his knee in their opening game last week. They fell 1-1.
All of Latron’s 13 players saw action and only two of them failed to score, including Season 95 MVP Fran U.
Tommy Oliverio and Range Oliverio have chipped in for 15 and 11 points, respectively.
