LAS VEGAS – Brad Gushu of Canada will face American Corey Dropkin in the semifinals of the World Men’s Curling Championship on Saturday night.
Dropkin advanced to the final four, beating Scotland’s Kyle Waddell 6-4 in a qualifying match at Orleans Arena.
Gushue from St. John’s, NL, berth straight into the semifinals after taking first place in the 13-team round-robin standings.
Defending champion Nicholas Edin of Sweden won the second straight berth.
Edin Joel will meet Retornaz after beating Italy’s Ianic Schারller 10-4.
The winners of the semifinals will play for gold on Sunday and the losing teams will play for bronze.
