More promising athletes of various sports are bound to be discovered in the Bangsamoro region of Manila, Philippines.
The Bangsamoro Sports Commission will move in that direction as it formed a partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission on Tuesday to develop sports in Muslim Mindanao.
BSc Chairperson Nu-Man Caludtiag said they would benefit from the collaborative effort with the PSC in finding newly formed regional sports bodies to improve its programs in the Bangsamoro region.
During a courtesy call on PSC Chairman William Ramirez at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Caludtig said, “Our vision is to develop talent and find children living in our area who have the potential to excel in sports.
“The BSc is still a work in progress and our partnership with the PSC will help us effectively implement the mandate, which is to promote sports and institutionalize sports programs, among others,” added Caludetiag.
Also present at the signing of the BSC-PSC agreement were BSc Commissioner Arsalan Diamauden, representing Lanao del Sur, Abdul Khari Musa from Tawi-Taui, Yusuf Sario of Basilan and Adzhar Tinkahan of Sulur.
In addition to the trend of developing martial arts, the region should focus on BSc extreme sports, chess, volleyball, badminton, pancake silat, sepak takra, shooting and swimming.
“The fastest way to build an Olympian in the region is through open water swimming,” Ramirez said. “If the kids there are strong and sturdy and have the opportunity to compete in a common pool, you will be amazed at how fast they can swim.”
The BSC is the policy-making and coordinating body of all amateur sports development programs and organizations in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and was created on September 17, 2020 by Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 12 or “Bangsamoro”. Sports Commission Act 2020. “
“Our commission is here to build a strong and strong relationship with PSC, one of the strongest institutions in the country. Our goals and passion for creating and developing interest in Filipino sports are very similar, “said Caludtiag.
“Like the PSC, the BSc is committed to transforming the people of Bangsamoro into a healthy citizen through a variety of commendable sports development programs,” Caludtiag added.
Top executives of PSC and BSc also conduct tree planting activities at RMSC which will stand as a symbol of friendship and strong relationship in future.
